Easterseals Redwood receives $1.75 million in state funding to expand services with new Campbell County campus

April 14, 2026

Easterseals Redwood (ESRW) will receive a $1.75 million appropriation from the Kentucky General Assembly to expand its services with a new campus in Campbell County, increasing access to critical care for children and adults with disabilities.

Easterseals Redwood has operated a licensed medical childcare program in Fort Mitchell for more than 20 years and opened its Florence location in 2023. Building on that model, the new campus will bring together early childhood education, Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC, also known as medical childcare), therapy services and adult programming in one inclusive centralized location.

The expansion will create a more accessible, comprehensive option for families by bringing services closer to home in a growing region. The new campus is expected to serve residents in Campbell County as well as neighboring Pendleton and Bracken counties, improving access to care for families who currently face limited options.

“As Campbell County continues to grow, so does the need for accessible, specialized care for children and families,” said Pam Green, president and CEO of Easterseals Redwood. “When I first began talking about the issue with State Representative Mike Clines, from District 68 in Campbell County, I shared that with the current providers in the area, there are still more than 1,500 children younger than five who need childcare – and there are no resources in the county for children with complex needs. This is about meeting families where they are, giving parents the ability to work and support their families.”

The integrated approach will support children with complex medical needs alongside typically developing peers, while also enabling earlier intervention and diagnosis for children with therapeutic and medical needs. The campus will also expand Adult Day Services, providing more options for adults with disabilities — particularly those who face transportation barriers while accessing care through Kentucky waiver programs.

“One of my goals when I ran for office in 2022 was to enhance services and the quality of life for the more than 700 children and adults in Campbell County living with disabilities. This $1.75 million appropriation by the General Assembly reflects a broader commitment to strengthening local communities and investing in their future and puts us one step closer,” said Rep. Mike Clines. “Families ought to have access to care close to home. This investment will bring essential therapy, education, and support services to a growing community, ensuring more children and adults have the resources they need to live happy and healthy lives.”

Easterseals Redwood is currently seeking a site in southern Campbell County to maximize accessibility for families. Additional fundraising will be needed to complete the project. The organization will partner with Hixson Architecture, Engineering and Interiors on the design.

Easterseals Redwood believes in the power of purpose and the power of work; empowering children and adults with disabilities, military veterans, and people facing disadvantages to live full and meaningful lives.
