(CINCINNATI) – Easterseals Redwood recently received $30,000 for Construction Pathway from the Charles H. Dater Foundation. Easterseals Redwood is grateful for the foundation’s continued support of youth working toward sustainable careers in this fast-growing industry.

The Charles H. Dater Foundation was founded 1985 to support community programs that enrich the lives of children. It was started by Charles H. Dater, a philanthropic man with strong ties to Greater Cincinnati. The mission of the Dater Foundation is to make grants to non-profit organizations in the Greater Cincinnati area to carry out projects that benefit children in the areas of arts/culture, education, healthcare, social services and other community needs. According to their website, when making grants, Foundation directors ask, “How many children will feel the impact our grant, and how deep will the impact be?”

Easterseals Redwood’s Construction Pathway supports at-risk youth in attaining not only their GED or high school diploma, but credentialed training, practical experience and placement and apprenticeship opportunities in the construction trade – one of the most “in-demand” industries locally. Every participant gains practical, hands-on work hardening training through the rehabilitation/building of low-income housing. Click here to learn more about construction programs.
