Easterseals Awarded Grant from Dow Jones Foundation for Digital Learning

April 18, 2022

The Dow Jones Foundation, through Easterseals National, has awarded Easterseals serving Greater Cincinnati $5,333 in grant funding to support education, life skills and job development for people with disabilities in our community.

Because of COVID-19, many of Easterseals’ programs turned to virtual learning options that are now incorporated into daily programming as we transition back to more in-person activities. In order to support people with disabilities in digital literacy, Easterseals will expand online programming to leverage technology for teaching, certification training and life-skills instruction. The program includes online learning, group classroom activities and practical hands-on training. Through these efforts, Easterseals will move individuals toward equitable employment and community integration.

Through the generosity of the Dow Jones Foundation, Easterseals will be able to offer a range of digital learning options designed to teach safe and responsible online practices. This includes social media awareness, online privacy, protecting person info, and safely surfing the web. For people ready for employment, we offer support with resume building, online job profiles and Microsoft applications.

Thank you, Dow Jones Foundation and Easterseals National!
