Don R., an Army veteran and this year’s recipient of the Brighter Futures Upward Mobility Award, never thought he needed help transitioning back to civilian life. After experiencing some challenging times, he spoke with a fellow veteran and realized he could benefit from support. With assistance from our Military and Veteran Services team, Don was re-certified as an EMT through a 16-week program at Cincinnati State and found purpose through employment.
