The Easterseals Redwood program, Building Value, celebrates Earth Day every day! Building Value is centered on building a stronger and more sustainable community, helping to create career opportunities for people facing challenges to employment. They train more than 50 clients each year in deconstruction, salvage, retail, and customer service.

Since 2004, Building Value has saved more than 12.8 million pounds of perfectly usable building materials from ending up in landfills. That’s millions of pounds of doors, cabinets, lights, and lumber getting a second life in homes and businesses across the region. This year, Building Value is emphasizing their mission with a huge renovation at their retail location, the improvements done completely with reclaimed building materials. Building Value is at the forefront of raising awareness and support for environmental protections. Their work benefits both the planet and all of us who rely on it!
